If you’ve changed employers, you probably have an old pension scheme somewhere. In fact, it’s not uncommon for people to have a handful of different accounts throughout their career.
Does this sound familiar? If it does, have you kept them all up to date? Are you actively managing them, checking their performance and ensuring each provider has up to date contact information for you? Your pension is your money, so it’s important that you ensure it is working hard for you. The better managed your pensions are and the lower their charges, the more likely you are to end up with more money when you retire.
If you have old pension accounts that aren’t really being looked after you can transfer them to us instead. This means you can get a clearer picture of how you are doing, whether you are on track for the kind of retirement you want, less paperwork, and you benefit from having a modern pension with competitive, low charges.
You can choose your own investments or, if you are not comfortable making investment decisions, our default investment strategy will invest your money on your behalf.
To transfer your old pensions, click on the Transfer In tab, which you can find under Your Pension in the Navigation Menu. You will need:
- The name of your old scheme provider
- The scheme name
- Your account or policy number
You can normally find this information on an old statement. Once you have completed the process, click Submit.
We will send you an email asking you to check and confirm the changes you have made. You will need to click on the verification link in the email we send you to complete the process.
We will take care of the rest for you. Transfer times do vary by provider and may take several weeks. You can revisit this page any time to see the status of your transfers.
