How do I check on my pension?

We understand that it can be difficult and upsetting if something happens to your employer. Should you ever find that your employer goes into administration and ceases trading, it is important to know that your pension is protected by our Trust. Your money belongs to you and, whatever happens to your employer, your pension will not disappear.

If you understand that your employer is encountering financial difficulties, you may wish to check that the pension contributions that you and they make into your account each time you are paid have been received by us. You can easily do this using the Creative Pension Trust Member Portal.

Log in with your account details and you will be taken to your own personal dashboard. This provides you a regular update on your:

  • Current Fund Value – this is the current total value of your pension, including any contributions recently received from your employer which are not yet invested in your chosen investment funds
  • Latest Contributions – this provides the amount of the last contribution we received from your employer and the date we received it. You can also see what proportion of your pay is being paid in by you and your employer in percentage terms. If you have a Salary Exchange arrangement with your employer, you will only see the total contribution that you and your employer make listed together in the ‘Employer’ field.

You can also check the history of contributions paid into your account: click on Your Pension in the Navigation Menu and select Pension Details. On the Pension Details page, you can find a record of every contribution we have received since you joined your employer’s scheme.

There are some important things to remember when it comes to your pension, its value and your contribution records:

  • By law, your employer has until 22nd of the following month to pay your pension contributions to us, so please bear this in mind when checking your contribution history
  • How much your pension is worth will vary from day to day based on investment performance how much and how often you pay in. You can log in to the Creative Pension Trust Member Portal at any time to see how your pension is doing
  • If your employer has gone into administration and you are concerned about any pension contributions you believe you are owed, you may need to refer to them or to any official receiver that has been appointed to deal with the bankruptcy in the first instance
