What if I become self-employed?

If you become self-employed, your existing pensions savings will remain with us after you leave employment unless you transfer your pension to your own arrangement.

We will email you a Leavers Pack, explaining the options for your pension with us and ask that you log into your account on the Creative Pension Trust Member Portal to:

  • Ensure we have your current personal email address on which we can contact you, NOT an email address issued by your employer (because without a personal email address, we may not be able to keep you updated on important matters relating to your pension)
  • Ensure we have your current mobile telephone number
  • Ensure we have your full home address

Creative Pension Trust is a workplace pension provider and does not currently offer personal pension arrangements for self-employed individuals. If you are looking for a personal pension, you should consider financial guidance or advice; you can find out more about this on our website.

If you are forming your own company and employing staff, you will have employer’s auto enrolment duties to fulfil. If this is the case, you may want to consider Creative Pension Trust as your workplace pension provider. Our Creative Auto Enrolment Pension provides everything you need to meet your obligations and gives your employees a secure, quality workplace pension to save for the future.
