Investment returns and managing risk are so important that we invest heavily in this area to provide the best possible services – for employers and employees.
Our Investment Committee meet to review and recommend investment funds on a quarterly basis. The committee is chaired by an experienced Chartered Financial Planner who also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
As an independent business, we are not tied to any particular product or provider so can offer a truly impartial investment advice service. By assessing quantitative and qualitative market and fund information, our Investment Committee provides a valuable central resource for our Consultants and Advisers, selecting recommended default investment funds for employers to use within their workplace pension schemes, as well as individual investment funds for members to move into from a choice of over thousands.
The committee members’ expert knowledge is supplemented each quarter by detailed data reports. These cover a range of market statistics and information, including Morningstar Analyst Rating and Sharpe ratios. These will evaluate funds based on set criteria which help to identify those funds which are more likely to outperform over the long term on a risk-adjusted basis. They can also measure a fund manager’s ability to deliver a high level of returns relative to the risk of the overall portfolio.
Approved funds and any tactical investment changes are updated into our modelling software and communicated to our Advisers each quarter. While the due diligence associated to this is time consuming and very detailed, it helps the investment performance received by our clients significantly, so we are committed to continuing this work in-house.
We strive to help our clients get the best possible investment returns for their own attitude to investment risk and so, in addition to monitoring what exists already, we also employ resources to help research and develop new investment opportunities, bringing them into our offerings wherever and whenever appropriate.
In addition to the analysis and recommendation work undertaken by the Investment Committee, we also publish a quarterly investment report for our clients, looking at all the major global economic sectors, what performance has looked like in the past quarter and what may lay ahead in the future. To see an example of this, why not download our Quarterly Investment Report.
